Friend Troubles

Let’s just forget about why I didn’t blog last night, shall we??? Okay nevermind, I’ll fill in you in so you guys don’t think I’m a terrible food blogger!

Last night Jas and I went to Johnny B’s and then to the park. I was about to sit down and blog when my “best friend” calls and we got in a HUGE fight. I’m not gonna go into details or anything, but I spent the night crying in Jason’s arms and the energy that I had was just completely sucked out of me :(

Do you guys ever feel like you don’t really have anything in common with anyone anymore? It’s just this friend and I have been best friends since we were 11, and lately I don’t even know who she is! I feel like she doesn’t support me and the things I do at all, but I still do for her. I’ve had enough of it, and when I called her out on it last night she cussed me out and hung up the phone. And honestly, this is going to sound so lame, but I feel like you guys are better friends that she is!! I’ve never even met any of you, but I feel like you support me and cheer me on…Kind of feel like a loser saying that because my only “friends” are on the computer, haha.

Last night I was reading Runner’s World and I came upon this quote from Anthony Famiglietti (two-time Olympian runner), he says:

“…surround yourself with people who keep you motivated and energized – people who inspire you to achieve your best every day. When you do this, you can’t lose.”

Amen brotha.

I am sorry for going off on a tangent there! I just needed to get that out :) This morning I woke up at the same time Jas did. I was pretty hungry so I hurried up and came home so I could eat!

Breakfast was simple but satisfying: Multigrain Cheerios, skim milk, strawberries and banana. Green tea on the side.

Guess what?! I got an email this morning saying that they are just postponing (and NOT cancelling) the Aerosmith concert! Woot woot!!

Half of my to-do list from yesterday still awaits me…plus a few added extras:

  • mow grass
  • walk Trixie
  • strength routine
  • me-time (hmmm maybe some reading??)

I’m off to go get started on that list! Have a wonderful Wenesday everyone, and I promise that I won’t leave you hanging today :)

  1. Sorry to hear about your fight – I can completely relate. My "best friend" and I have been friends since we were five but it has evolved into a one way relationship that entails me being supportive and her being…well, needy. She isn't a good friend to me anymore and I feel the same way – as if she's not very supportive. Who needs friends like that, anyways?

So exciting about the concert – I'm happy for ya! Have a good day and do make sure to get your you-time in! :)

  2. I'm sorry about your fight with your friend! It can be really hard though when your friends with someone for so long because it's inevitable that your going to grow apart in certain ways. I've known my best friend since I was 5 and we're still in eachothers life, however, we don't hang out like we used to–we say we're more like sisters than friends now. We've grown apart which we've come to deal with but we still love eachother. You guys will get through this!

  3. I'm sorry to hear about your fight, I can relate. I feel like I don't really have any good girlfriends anymore, I have such different interests from all of the girls I know (running/working out/nutrition). I have one close friend that I've been friends with since I was 12 but yeah, I still don't feel very close to her anymore. :(

  4. I'm sorry to hear about your fight with your friend. Sometimes we just "grow out" of our friendships, which is totally sad…but on a brighter note, there are always more friends to be made! :) Hope you have a great day.

  5. Sorry to hear about your fight:( But you definitely need friends who support you in everything you do!! Love the quote!

  6. ugh, isn't that the worst? I'm so sorry. you don't deserve that! i feel the same way about "blog friends" – it's weird to feel so close to people you've never met but it's SUCH great support, you know? keep being awesome "foodie twin" hahaha :)

  7. I agree about feeling closer to "blog" friends than my real friends. Going out and eating pizza and drinking beer just isn't as fun as it use to be. Of course i'm alot older and all my friends have kids or have moved to Florida…why didn't I follow?

Just keep being Stacey and be true to what you believe in!

  8. I'm so sorry to hear about the friend fight. Unfortunately, I have been there and done that! I have "broken up" with my best friend twice, sadly. It's always hard but usually ends up being the best. But I wish you the best of luck and I'm sure things will work out :)

    You are a great person!!!

  9. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend troubles. It is sad how people grow apart. My "best friend" that I grew up with and I are now 2 completely different people. We get along and are civil, but our relationship is not nearly the same. I totally agree with you that you should only surround yourself around people that make you a better person!!! CHEER UP! Blogger love <3

  10. [...] on a more personal note: I’m having a little bit of a dilemma. Remember this post? That was a post about my best friend and I “breaking up” (as you guys liked to put [...]
